Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Sri Lankan TripTip's website, services, and any bookings made through us. By accessing our platform or confirming a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
Please read these Terms carefully before making any booking. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use our services. We recommend saving or printing a copy for your records.
Sri Lankan TripTip is registered and operates in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("the Guest") and Sri Lankan TripTip ("the Company," "we," "us").
"Your trust is the foundation of every journey we craft. These Terms are designed not to restrict your freedom, but to set clear, fair expectations so that your Sri Lankan experience exceeds every expectation."
Bookings & Reservations
All bookings made through Sri Lankan TripTip are subject to availability and confirmation. A booking is not confirmed until you receive a written confirmation email from us.
Enquiry & Proposal
You submit a booking request or enquiry. We will respond within 24 hours with a detailed itinerary proposal and quote.
Deposit Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tour cost is required to secure your booking. Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is received and processed.
Booking Confirmation
Upon receipt of your deposit, we issue a formal Booking Confirmation outlining your itinerary, inclusions, and balance due date.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days prior to your tour start date. For bookings made within 30 days of travel, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Sri Lankan TripTip reserves the right to decline or cancel any booking at our discretion. In such cases, all payments received will be refunded in full within 7 business days.
Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. We accept payment by major credit/debit cards, bank wire transfer, and selected online payment platforms. Payments are processed securely through PCI-DSS-compliant gateways.

All taxes, service charges, and applicable government levies are included in the quoted price unless explicitly stated otherwise. Currency fluctuation risk is borne by the guest for unpaid balances.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while reflecting the genuine costs we incur when preparing your journey.
Guest-Initiated Cancellations
Company-Initiated Cancellations
In the rare event that we must cancel your tour due to circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund of all payments made, or the option to reschedule at no additional cost. We will notify you as early as possible and provide detailed reasons for the cancellation.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@srilankantriptip.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.
Itinerary Changes & Amendments
Sri Lanka's dynamic environment — including weather, road conditions, wildlife, and cultural events — means flexibility is essential for delivering the best experience. We reserve the right to modify itineraries when circumstances require it.
Guest-Requested Changes
Changes requested by you after booking confirmation are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Changes within 14 days of departure may not always be possible.
Operational Changes
We may substitute hotels, vehicles, or specific activities with equivalents of equal or superior standard when original arrangements are unavailable. No refund is due for equivalent substitutions.
Weather & Force Majeure
Routes, activities, or timings may be altered due to weather, safety concerns, or extraordinary events. Guest safety is always our priority. See Force Majeure section for full details.
Significant Changes
If a major change significantly affects the nature of your tour, we will notify you promptly and offer either a suitable alternative or a proportional partial refund.
Tour Inclusions & Exclusions
Each tour package specifies its inclusions. The following applies as general guidance:

- Private air-conditioned vehicle and experienced driver
- English-speaking certified tour guide (where specified)
- Accommodation as per itinerary (twin or double room)
- Daily breakfast at hotel (full board where specified)
- All national park entrance fees and site tickets
- Airport pick-up and drop-off transfers
- Complimentary bottled water during transfers
- 24/7 concierge support via WhatsApp
Typically Excluded
- International flights and visa fees
- Travel insurance (strongly recommended)
- Lunches and dinners unless specified
- Personal expenses — laundry, tips, shopping
- Optional activities not listed in the itinerary
- Camera fees at certain heritage sites
- Medical expenses and vaccinations
- Tips for guides and drivers (optional but appreciated)
Specific tour packages may deviate from these general inclusions. Your Booking Confirmation is the definitive reference for your specific package.
Guest Conduct & Responsibilities
Sri Lankan TripTip curates extraordinary experiences rooted in authentic Sri Lankan culture. We ask all guests to engage with respect and responsibility.
Cultural Respect
Dress modestly when visiting religious sites (temples, kovils, mosques). Remove shoes as directed. Photography restrictions must be observed. Offensive behaviour toward local communities will not be tolerated.
Environmental Stewardship
Sri Lanka is home to extraordinary biodiversity. Do not litter, remove wildlife, or damage natural habitats. Follow guide instructions in national parks and wildlife sanctuaries at all times.
Legal Compliance
Guests must comply with all applicable Sri Lankan laws, including restrictions on narcotics (severe penalties apply), wildlife protection, and archaeological preservation. Sri Lankan TripTip bears no liability for illegal conduct.
Safety Protocols
Follow the guidance of your guide and driver at all times, particularly regarding road safety, swimming conditions, wildlife proximity, and trekking hazards. Participation in activities is at your own risk.
Fitness & Health Disclosure
Inform us of any medical conditions, mobility restrictions, dietary requirements, or allergies prior to travel. We will make reasonable accommodations where possible. Failure to disclose relevant health information may affect your safety.
Sri Lankan TripTip reserves the right to terminate participation of any guest who endangers safety, engages in illegal activity, or causes significant disruption. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel. Sri Lankan TripTip does not provide travel insurance and accepts no liability for losses that adequate insurance would cover.
Your travel insurance policy should cover, at minimum:
- Trip cancellation and interruption for any reason
- Emergency medical expenses and hospitalisation in Sri Lanka
- Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation
- Loss, theft, or damage of luggage and personal belongings
- Flight delays, missed connections, and accommodation costs
- Personal liability for accidental damage or injury to third parties
- Adventure activity coverage (trekking, wildlife safaris, water sports)
Ensure your policy is valid before your deposit is paid and covers your entire travel period, including any extension of stay. Keep your insurer's emergency contact number accessible throughout your journey.
Liability & Limitations
Sri Lankan TripTip acts as a principal for accommodations, transportation, and guide services we directly manage, and as an agent for third-party services we arrange on your behalf.
Important Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, Sri Lankan TripTip's total liability for any claim arising from a booking shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
We accept no liability for:
- Loss, injury, damage, or inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control
- The acts or omissions of independent third-party suppliers (airlines, hotels booked independently)
- Your failure to comply with entry requirements, visa conditions, or Sri Lankan laws
- Medical conditions, pre-existing illness, or physical limitations not disclosed to us
- Loss or theft of personal belongings during the tour
- Natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or government-imposed travel restrictions
- Inaccurate information provided by you at the time of booking
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Sri Lankan law.
Force Majeure
Sri Lankan TripTip shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control ("Force Majeure Events"), including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters: earthquakes, floods, landslides, tsunamis, or severe weather
- Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies declared by government authorities
- Political instability, civil unrest, war, terrorism, or government travel advisories
- Strikes, industrial action, or labour disputes affecting transportation or hospitality
- Infrastructure failure: power outages, road closures, or port and airport disruption
- Wildlife management actions or national park closures by Sri Lankan authorities
In the event of Force Majeure, we will make every reasonable effort to offer an alternative itinerary, postponement, or partial credit. Where full cancellation is the only option, refunds will be calculated after deducting unrecoverable costs already committed on your behalf — such as accommodation pre-payments and non-refundable supplier fees.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Sri Lankan TripTip website — including text, photography, videos, itineraries, brand identity, logos, and design elements — is the exclusive intellectual property of Sri Lankan TripTip or its licensed partners.
You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, or commercially exploit any content without prior written permission from Sri Lankan TripTip.
Personal, non-commercial use (such as sharing our pages on social media or saving itinerary PDFs for personal reference) is permitted provided our branding and attribution remain intact.
By submitting photographs, reviews, or testimonials to us, you grant Sri Lankan TripTip a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use, publish, and display that content across our marketing channels. You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal at any time.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your booking shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Dispute Resolution Process
For guests based in the European Union: nothing in these Terms affects your rights under EU consumer protection legislation, including the right to access the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with your Booking Confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sri Lankan TripTip and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.
Assignment
You may not assign your booking or any rights under these Terms to another person without our prior written consent. We may assign our obligations to a suitably qualified third party.
Amendments
We may update these Terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of your booking confirmation governs your journey. Material changes will be communicated via email.
Language
These Terms are written in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
